Default Jonson's Journal

Hello everyone

I thought it was time I put a journal up, as I feel it will benefit my training.
First of all keeping a regular online journal helps keep you motivated (which I need at the moment).
Second of all other members can drop helpfull advice in, which at times we all need.
Thirdly getting encouragement off other members is great! and helps in keeping the motivation.
Im 28 years old and live in the UK, im 5'10 tall and weigh around 190 lbs
Last year I ditched HIT and got on the starting strength routine, which was what I needed after 2 years of HIT, I could'nt belive the gains I was making.
I have had 3 runs of the SS routine with unplanned breaks inbetween,
Since doing the SS routine I have put on 23lbs in weight, my PR bodyweight is 193lbs (im not sure of the body fat percentage)
I am a very busy person and sometimes I find it difficult to find the time to train.
A couple of months ago I couldn't train for a couple of weeks, and over the last couple of months I have only trained now and then.
Now is the time to get back into training seriously, Im going to have one more run of the SS routine and hopefully will push past my PR's.
Im going to reset my lifts back about 30% (I cant repeat anywhere near my PR's at the moment) to practice my form (which needs a bit of attention), and to have a good run up to the PR's.

Heres my current PR's

Squat 105k 3x5
Bench 67 1/2k 3x5 (pitiful I know but I have only been benching
seriously in the last few months, used to do dips)
Deadlift 155k 1x5
Overhead Press 51k 3x5
Rows 57k 3x5 (havent been doing these long either)
Dips 102k (bw+plates) 3x5
DB row 39k 3x5

Heres my current routine, I train 3 days a week

Workout 1

Squats 3x5
Bench 3x5
Deadlift 1x5
Dips 2x8

Workout 2

Squats 3x5
OH press 3x5
Rows 3x5
Chins 2x failure
Shoulder prehab work

Also at the moment im going to be doing half an hour cardio on non workout days, because im in very bad shape at the moment and feel very unfit, im not bothered about losing fat I just want to be able to run up the stairs and not be short of breath
I wont be posting every workout only when something significant happens or I need help, otherwise Ill just update every now and
then, hope you boys on here enjoy it!

Thanks for reading
Jonson

Nearly up to those PR's!
Done 100k 3x5 on squats earlier, nearly there,
Reached a PR on rows 59 1/2k, 3x5.
Everything should be a PR in a couple of weeks, Hopefully!

Quick update
Matched my PR's on benches done a couple more PR's on the row (64 1/2k 3x5)
Gone back on the squats a little bit to correct a couple of minor form issues will be on PR's soon.
Instead of doing 3 days a week im trying training every other day just to see what happens, so far its going well.

Cheers Jonson
