Bench - 4X6, 1X2
Pull ups - about 25 in clusters
Dips - 4X10

Benching hurts my back apparently. I felt good after the squat session Monday. Bad DOMS, but everything was hurting in the right places.

Friday -

Warming up to DL & my back became aggravated again. That sucked. I went to a chiropractor on Friday since my work pays for everything. He's going to take some x-rays on Monday. I'm excited to see how everything looks since my last x-ray & MRI. I'm going to ask him what his qualifications are on Monday. I checked out his website & he only talked about the Gonstead Technique. For all I know he is a Doctor of Art or something.

Bench - 4X10
Tri pushdowns w/ band
Pull ups

I can't move very well, so I kept everything limited. It sucks that I can't bench press with my feet on the floor right now. I feel like I'm barely training right now. I'm not going to deadlift for a few weeks I think...at least, not until my back is feeling sufficiently recovered.

Thanks. The chiropractor made an "adjustment" today. It was cool because he did some x-rays. My right hip is peculiarly degraded. My herniated disc (L5, S1) is the one that's severely aggravated right now. My entire spine is not aligned properly. From the herniated disc to the top of my cervical spine, it's about 1.5" out of alignment at the top. Everything is straight except for the vertebrae around the herniated disc...if I can get those lined back up then I think everything will follow suit.

I've been in pretty bad pain all day & for him to make an "adjustment" the way he did by leaning into me so hard and then practically jumping on me...it just didn't seem very safe. It scared the shit out of me. I felt some instant relief...as though some of the pressure was taken away which was nice. I just hope he doesn't injure me worse or I will return the favor tenfold. :-/

One of my goals this year was to be able to lift at the Night of the Living Dead in Tennessee at the end of October. It's a deadlift only meet. It's completely open (no weight classes). To qualify for the meet you have to have pulled at minimum 2.5 times body weight. I'm 6 weeks out from the July 31 meet and I think I've only trained lower once this month. I haven't lifted this week and I probably won't even be comfortable doing a light upper workout until this weekend. I won't possibly be back to "100%" until sometime in July, so I think it would be a waste for me to take the time off to do this meet.

I think that I may try to get healthy, do a DL only meet in mid August to get qualified for the NOTLD, and keep my focus just on the NOTLD. It's Oct 23rd. I think that will give me some time to prepare. I'm not even sure that I would be able to get off work to do it, but I think it would be a good goal to aim for.
