Medicine Ball is great for any kind of rotation you want to do. And of course you can use them for weighted russian twists although a plate will do for that as well. And again Pallof Presses are good. You'll want a variety anyway.

I happen to have a waist that has gotten thicker through the years...I try to stay away from weighted oblique work...so I'm thinking russian twists maybe not?
