that pic was taken well before i started lifting...just after i got my tattoo last february....

i weigh in today...but last week i was at 154.5 pounds...hoping to be over 155 today.

and i know your situation...wasn't saying you HAVE to eat more protein by any means :) but if you're gaining...your on the right track...by the time you stop gaining with what you're eating now...you'll be able to eat more :)

lol at least someone noticed though its always a good sign when someone says "have you been working out" :-) i have just finished reading the book starting strength and have started to go back over the excercise technique once again however i did notice that in the program section that it is said that you should try to drink a gallon of milk a day (being english i have converted this to be very suprised to find this is 8 pints a day!) is this really a good idea and does anyone else drink a large volume of milk and find it helps? he says that it will help build anyone up due to the content in it and also the fact that it helps mammals develop? when he says drinking milk would he be refering to the completly skimmed milk with less fat in or the skimmed milk does anyone know? i do love my millk but just wondered if anyone thought that this amount was really necessary?

I wouldn't pay attention to the nutrition advice in SS, lol. Unless you think "building up" should include copious amounts of fat. You gotta develop you own diet. Probably what he's found is that all that helps people maintain the workload and then they do gain weight. Lots of people who gain muscle and fat evenly can be very unaware of just how much fat is coming along with it. But anytime someones tells you the 'secret' is large amounts of one thing you should pretty much ignore it. As for the mammal thing....cow milk helps cows develop and they don't continue to drink it their entire lives, do they? We also do not....

You will get two extremes...milk is evil and milk is god. Go to the middle road and you will usually be on the right track.
