Jan 10th 2010

reverse bands deadlift - green bands

265x5
265x5
355x5
445x3
495x2
515x1
535xfail

bands gave tension from ground to around my high shin , just before my knee. Worked the last 6" or so and lockout. Didn't put any gear on.

High rep deads

Maybe put the safeties up another notch next time. lol

I think if I had done that in the one gym I was at the safeties probably would have broken right off. I was concerned when I was rack pulling 405lb there was so much bend. lol

The rack is an odd ball one . I think the wholes are almost 2" apart from each other - So it's either too low or too high.

Reverse bands FTW, I read about reverse band squats being a staple at Big iron gym, they never squat against normal set up bands they say it throws the groove off. How did you like em?

I liked them Hops. I give me a chance to hit some heavy weight without putting on a suit or shirt. It's still dead weight when you unrack the bar so your body is still getting the shock of the weight. And once the bands kick in it really helps . IMO it's better than doing lockouts or 3/4 lifts.

I think I'm going to do them every 3 weeks or so.
