Just a question about the sumos. Were they wide enough to truly call them a sumo deadlift? As far as I understand you have to be pretty damn wide.

Like this:

I'm not knockin it. Just wondering cause i'm thinkin about switching to a sumo variation for my deads.

Awesome work in here Pity.

Stances can vary. Some people go extremely wide but the width will tend to start at about twice the width of your conventional and go out from there. Which for some isn't really so wide but you just have to mess around and find the one that's most comfortable.

That guy in the vid has a very nice one though.

You don't have to 'switch' you can use them as a variation.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

Thats what I meant by "switch." To change to for a while. I would never give up conventional deads altogether! I love them too much.

Ha...gotcha! I took the word switch too literally and somehow missed the word 'variation' altogether..my apologies! In any case it's good to make sure because I HAVE found that many people think you need to "choose" one which may be a misconception brought about from powerlifting.

i tried much wider when i first started. hips did not care for it so i just moved in a ways...definitely a very different feel from conventionals.
