Default Flawed's Starting Strength

So i too decided to start the Rippetoe Starting Strength program... been looking at this program for awhile but after reading hunt0r's and other success it really put me on to it. So I started Monday but havent really had the time to post a journal yet so here we go!

Just like hunt0r I am starting low with weights so I can get the correct form because Ive never been huge on squatting and Ive NEVER deadlifted before. Unfortunately one of my main goals at the moment is to lose weight... which doesnt seem like will go hand in hand with this program but we will see how it goes!

STATS:
Ht - 6'
Wt - 215lbs
BF- ?

I am taking Eric's approach to starting strength and doing the ABC workout instead of ABA

Monday
Squats 3x5
Bench 3x5
Pullups Till failure x 2
Dips 2x8

Wednesday
Squats 3x5
OH Press 3x5
Deads 1x5

Friday
Squats 3x5
Bench 3x5
Rows 3x5
Chin Ups Till failure x 2

GOALS:
Build My Core Muscles
Slim down

TUESDAY 08/21/2007

Ran some cardio... normally do sprint HIIT style but decided to run distance... ran roughly 4 miles... but probably about 1/5 of it was walking... threw a few sprints in there.. was suprised i made it that far though, usually my calves are cramped to hell by that point.

The pullups/rows seem to be MIA though. What happened there?

My goals were also weight loss when I first started and they dont really match this program, but its all good! I have just decided to eat clean and bulk away with the starting strength and I will eventually do a cut. Good luck with the program!

WEDNESDAY 08/22/2007

Squats:
Bar x 8
65 x 5
85 x 3
95 x 1

140 3x5

OH Press:
Bar x 8
55 x 5
65 x 3
75 x 1

95 3x5

DeadLifts:
135 1x5

ABs:
Decline situps - 25lbs x 20
Leg Lifts - 0 x 10
Decline situps - 25lbs x 20
Leg Lifts - 0 x 10
Decline situps - 25lbs x 20

10 min of light cardio on the crosstrainer

The whole workout felt damn good... really felt my squats... think my form is pretty decent. OH Press felt good too... havent done military press in a long time... felt confident enough to go up in weight next week. Deadlifts... what to say... did a set at 115 just to get a feel for it... Had my form looked at and then did a working set at 135... Did them sumo style... Im not sure how everyone feels about that but i liked it. I was pretty happy with my first time deadlifting.. the manager at the gym said my form is real good, which is awesome because hes a american record holder for powerlifting. He also is the one that reccomended i do them sumo style as long as i was flexible enough...
