Thanks. I'm curious to see how it goes...I give advice about it and talk about it every day, but it's all in theory, I guess. Hopefully I'll learn something.

Good luck Ross. Let us know how things are going for you. I also have never done a dedicated cutting phase. I am giving it a thought but my main reason (other than being lazy) is I do not want a reduction in strength. Again, good luck and keep us posted on the progress.

Good luck with this. I hope you record and post up on your diet/progress.

The only thing I can say is I dont like those calculators. Since it said aprox 2700 cals why don't you test that out ? Eat it for a week ( write everything down) and see if you stay the same , lose or gain. then go from there...take away a couple hundred. Dropping to 2000 is a big drop if 2700 is maint...But there is only one way to find out. GOODLUCK.

Thanks TALO. I was at 2700-2800 all week and maintained the same weight. The only problem was that it was only...80% clean. From now on, I plan on it being 100% clean. I took in 2000 calories today. That SUCKED. I felt like I was starving. I am going to increase calories to 2200-2300. I was surprised I hit almost exactly 2000 today since it was my first day and I didn't count calories until the end of the day. I am going to post everything on my workout days, but not every day of the week...at least until I get the hang out it. I'll be keeping up with it on fitday though.

I'll update this post later....sitting at 1500 calories right now. I had that in my first meal...oops. I have the rest of the day planned out fairly well. I might be a little over today because I'm going to a concert/party tonight and I just found out that if I drink 15-20 bud lights, that equals 1650-2200 calories.

I had lunch with a friend I work with not long ago and he was complaining about not being able to keep his weight down. So I started estimating he had just consumed during lunch...turns out it was a conservative 1700 (mostly from fat).

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.
