Thanks Matt. I'm pretty disappointed that I wasted as much time as I did with the last routine, which was recommended to me. The whole time I worked on squat form during leg workouts and never did much weight. I didn't deadlift or do military press. My overall strength is down big time. And a week or so after the guy had me start the routine, he went out of town for a month. So I haven't been able to talk to him and work out the many hurdles that arose. I think I know enough now to not listen to other people. Ever.

j/k, but about my own training, I think I'm competent enough to do my own thing at this point. I'm looking forward to catching back up to where I was 6 months ago...and making progress beyond that.

Pull ups - 3 X 4
Face pulls - 90 X 8, 4, 2
Dip shrugs - 12, 6, 4
Straight bar curls - (semi drop set) 75 X 8, 8, 4
Scapular press ups

So.....I did pull ups! Shoulder was killing me towards the end, so I only did 3 sets. I will probably just keep it at this and try to improve very slowly. I really wish I could have an MRI done. Right now everything is very weak in that area. Too bad I didn't do this workout yesterday instead of taking the day off...it was a nice, easy workout. Can't wait for some heavy pressing tomorrow.

yo ross, you are in school right? does your school have insurance? if not are you working? because if you arent working you mess around and can get some welfare insurance, so that way you can get all that shit. sounds stupid but its better to have insurance instead of none. if you arent working or not making that much loot, look into it. dont bother with none of the other welfare shit. just see if you can get some insurance. i rememebr you sayign you were on your pops insurance but i was just throwing you and option

I appreciate it monsta. I think that whatever way I go, it's still going to be ridiculously expensive. Too bad I can't get health insurance at GNC...their health insurance is the best I've ever heard of. It's better than the state's insurance for teachers, professors, etc. I think I will look into it when I get back to school. It shouldn't be too hard to run some numbers. The only problem I can think of is that generally when you switch insurance, it's 90 days before the new policy starts. And the shoulder would probably be deemed a pre-existing condition. That's fine with me though, because I'm not telling anybody about it when I sign the forms. I'll let you know what's up when I get back in town. I'm visiting my sister this weekend...she got me a free pass to the gym that she works at. Everybody in there was just doing bench press, curls, or tricep extentions. Luckily the squat rack was free the ENTIRE time. It is the most unmotivating place ever. And they played Celine Dion the entire time I was there.

Bench press - 1X5 190, 2X5 195
Squats - 3X5 255
Standing military press - 5X3 135
Leg press (narrow) - nothing
Weighted dips - BW + 45 X 8, 5

I was feeling very strong today. I could have done squats with a lot more weight. It was the first time I have squatted in front of a mirror in months. It was awesome for helping me find my depth and where I was (forwards/backwards). It feels good to be doing heavier weight again. The leg press didn't have any lower back support and I couldn't find a cushion/pad. Kind of like driving without a steering wheel...not a good idea.

Back in town now, but before I left Raleigh this morning, I went to the gym that my sister works at to lift. I got kicked out. For doing deadlifts. Oh, and in the time it took me to drive home, all of the gyms closed. So no workout today.

I was setting them down gently. I hadn't even gotten to my first working set yet, so I was not having a problem setting them down. I asked if I could deadlift when I walked in and he said sure, so long as I didn't drop the weights.

After he told me that I couldn't work out there, he said that it wasn't a powerlifting gym, so people couldn't do "powerlifting lifts". He was quite the dumbass. I suppose he meant olympic lifts because that would have been more appropriate since I was deadlifting right between a squat rack and a flat bench. Still doesn't make sense... Another thing that pissed me off about that gym...there wasn't a single 35lb plate in the entire gym.
