I'm officially cutting now........
I wish I could recomp instead. No heavy pushing or pulling. I can't even do push ups at the moment. Even squats put too much pressure on the shoulder. I can do leg press, leg curls, leg extensions, GHRs, calve raises, sled pulls, etc.
I went to the school's infirmary. I talked to a doctor there who knew a decent amount about shoulders & then we walked over to the "injury office" where I met the university's PT. It was great that I knew what I was talking about & what my goals were. They didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know, but it was nice to have that affirmation. The plan is to rehab the shoulder as much as possible and do prehab to prevent an injury before January. When January rolls around, I'm hoping to get an MRI. They said that they could send me to an orthopedist, but he would be in the dark also without an MRI.
I'll be going to PT every day, I hope. He set up an A session & a B session. Because the movements are done sooooo slowly, I was in there for almost two hours. At the end of every session, he is going to put a couple of bags of ice on my shoulder & do the electric stim for 20 minutes. Wow, at the end of todays session I was in pain from the inflammation. A shit ton of ice & the electric stimulation did the trick...I felt great after. I'm going to go ice it now because it's getting inflamed again. I am going to run out & get some naproxen also...probably on the way to the gym for some cardio.

Chain squats (from belt) - 2X15 58, 83
SSB squats - 1X5 135, 2X5 185
Leg press - 3X8 290
Leg curls - 2X5 120, 1X5 130
Sled drag 200
I used the harness today on the sled. Yeah, there is an f'ing harness. Two APT harnesses, in fact! I had been pulling a sled with a rope...today was much better. I can manage some light SSB squats. They only mildly aggravated my shoulder. For the chain squats, I set up two 20" boxes 12" apart next to the power rack. I put on the belt w/ the chain & added weight and squatted from the boxes...the weight went down between the boxes, so I had decent depth. I held onto a post on the rack to help with balance.
Fun little workout.

Those belt squats are fun. I actually have a log chain bar for this purpose, though there is not a ton of advantage over just hooking weight on a belt as these puppies are pretty hard to do, and though the log chain bar will allow for loads up to around... oh, a crap ton of weight, I can't move that much weight
Harnesses are fun. I think APT regularly runs a special where you buy one and get one free. We have an ironmind harness at our gym and it is absolutely the cadillac of harnesses, lol. Also costs as much as a cadillac

That's cool. I'm a little lost on the log chain bar deal though. Can you post a link or picture?
Here is my gripe with the gym I w/o at. They don't have a single tennis ball in the whole place. I am going to buy a can of them tonight...one ball for my room, one for my gym bag, and one for the gym.

Flat DB press - 3X15 45
P rows - 4X5 95
Dip shrugs - 3X5
I tried doing scapular press ups, but those things hurt very badly. I stopped after the first attempted rep. I tried push ups after that, but my scapula was bothering me too much. I tried doing some dip shrugs &....I'm a weakling. I went from being able to do a basically unlimited number to right around 5 or so. I won't be doing any OH lifts for a while...I don't even want to think about it right now. I will probably have a heavy leg day tomorrow. I am missing squatting with weight. I will see how the shoulder feels DLing about 135 or so. Maybe I'll be able to do some DE work in a few days for DL. I conveniently forgot to do cardio today. That means I have a date with the sled tomorrow.
