Thanks man. Yeah, no gi is a lot harder then gi. With gi you can grab some cloth. No Gi, if that guy sweats a lot, getting a hold on him is very frustrating.

I forgot to look for the vid on my camera. I'll look tonight and see what's up.

I got this weird 24 hr. cold so I didn't workout Monday.

Yesterday I passed my level 3 Muay Thai test. It was harder than my last test and I almost passed out from doing the timed drills. On a funny note, I was paired up with this guy and he was a little smaller and I thought he was good because he seemed to know a lot of others in the gym that have been there for a while and I see him train with others, separate from the main class. Well I was wrong. The head instructor and one of the Pro fighters were yelling at him to pick up the pace every 5-10 minutes. Now the funny part. Half way through the test we had to do punching drills and end with a kick to the head. Your partner is suppose to block it. Well second set I do I throw the kick to his head, at medium speed, and the guy doesn't really block. So something right out of a Van Dam movie I stop right before contact and leave my leg up there. The Head Instructor sees this and yells at me, "Dave, KICK HIM IN THE F@!#ING HEAD NEXT TIME IF HE DOESN'T BLOCK!!" I was thinking man he is really pissed at this guy for not giving 100%. So after a little bit, guess what I did? I didn't knock him out or anything. I just slowed down the kick before it nailed him in the head.

Next Monday I have tryouts of the Muay Thai Fight Team. This should be very exciting. I can't wait.

On a side note, I'm going out of town for a couple of days for a wedding and won't be updating till Sunday, maybe Monday, don't worry the kettlebell is coming with ;) . I know I've been promising the grappling vids, and they will be up, I've just been real busy lately.

^^ its his own fault if he doesnt want to put the effort in to block, and its taking away from your learning/training. I would have kicked him in the head too hahah. good shit dave.

Dave I'm impressed that you could hover your kick like that. I haven't seen many MMA guys with the strength to do that. That's awesome in itself.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

13 years of traditional karate and kempo helps out. We would do exercise where you hold your leg out in a round house kick position as high as you can for about a minute or so. That's what helps with control. MMA is all about power with very little finesse.

As for me holding my leg out there, it was only for about 3 seconds. I could have held it out there longer but I had more kicking to do.
