Monday's Workout
PM training: MMA 1hr BJJ 2hr OVERVIEW Classes were great and I'm starting to get use to being all beat up, it's a different type of DOM. :biglaugh: But what I'm not use to is lifting with different injuries that pop up after every training session. I know that other pros. lift or workout with weights all the time when they are injured but I haven't trained this hard before and lifting is becoming difficult to balance. I'll try and lift soon since it's driving me crazy that I haven't in so long. MMA was great. Learned different ways to work the clinch with a wrestlers tie-up. Then I got to work Ground and Pound with a big guy and our Judo black belt. I got to say the big guy was fun to beat on. He's very strong but doesn't know how to mix BJJ and striking. I also did well ageist our Judo black belt. Felt good to smack him around a little since he has slammed me through the floor a couple of times in the past... all in training fun of course. BJJ was good, we worked a lot of mount techniques and I was able to spar with some new people from other schools that have started to train with us.. very fun and refreshing. |
Wednesday's Workout
PM training: Burpee Clean and Press: 5 one minute rounds with on minute rest @ 135lbs. reps 10,6,5,5,3 Submission wrestling 1.5 hour OVERVIEW Not bad since I haven't done those in a while. Felt great and warmed up before class. Class was good and I was feeling great. Started sparring against one of our new blue belts from another group. I was dominating the whole time and with 30 seconds left I was starting to goof around and I get caught in a triangle choke but I wasn't locked tight. I started to cut the angles to get out and that is when I twisted my knee. I felt a pop and immediately got scared more than hurt. I don't think I tore anything but it's sore today. The soreness is on the inside of my left knee, right along the side edge of knee joint. Well needless to say this sucks. My coach told me to only drill next time I come in and rest it up a lot if I wanted to compete in 2 weeks. I'll keep you guys updated. |
sucks about the injury man. :( rest it up.
|
That sucks man, Rest that as best as you can.
Was there any swelling today ? |
damn. well elevate it, soak in epsom salt and ice it heavy and as much as possible
|
Well these guys know lots more about injury stuff than I do so....
Get better! IW |
Thanks guys. My knee is doing better. It's just sore and feels weak.
Thursday's Workout PM training: Muay Thai 1 hour OVERVIEW Tried to warm it up a little and just work on my hands in the Muay Thai class. My knee didn't hurt that much and class was good. I tried to just drill in BJJ class and my knee was not having that. So I left early and relaxed at home with some ice on the knee. |
Wednesday's Workout
PM training: Submission wrestling 2 hour OVERVIEW My knee is feeling good and I think I'll be able to compete this weekend. The only problem is my weight is up a little higher than I would like and I don't think I'll be able to make the 195 lbs weight class. But It's not that big of a deal as most of you guys have seen I have competed in the 210 classes before and won. Class was amazing and I was able to really push myself without re-injuring my knee. My first sparring match was against a blue belt and it went on for 7 minutes strait and I eventually won, it was guard passing sparring and I passed his guard. Then I was "the guy to beat" so I had fresh guy after fresh guy come after me. I eventually lost after about 8 or 9 rounds, talk about cardio. At the end of class our coach went up to each one of us that was competing and gave us specific things to work on in our game plan for the competition. That was great and it showed how dedicated he is to us. I'm glad I decided to stay with him him when he opened his own school. |
