28/9/07 - intensity

reg squat:
barx5x2
40x5
58x3
78x2
93x5x1 <- PR. it was ok, but let's say I'm happy there was a spotter ;) next week 98.
back-off set: 63 x 8

bench:
barx5x2
30x5
48x3
62x2
75.5x4x1 <- tried 5 but couldn't, so the spotter helped me lifting the 5'th. after the set I understood I used a bar which weights the same like the one I usually use, but with a little bigger diamater. I'm sure it didn't help me... I was a bit frustrated, but I guess it just means that I'm still not working hard enough on sunday's (volume day). it doesn't mean I'm going to up my volume days in 5 kg though, I'm just putting 1 kg each time on sunday's, and if there's an improvement in thursday - good. if not - I'll just wait another week. if sunday's workout goes up steadily, there's no way thursday won't go up as well (at least this is how I understand Eric's interpertations of the program, correct me if I'm wrong) plus the diamater didn't help... so I'm cool with it.

pu:
(10,9,8) -> TL: 27 (1 more from last week)

overall nice workout. have a great weekend and thank's for reading everything

I would definitely assume that the larger bar upset your transfer of power. If next week you go to the other bar and regress further then you would have to assume that you have fatigue from sunday. The sumo dl's being so heavy probably don't help.

But, yeah, I would adopt a wait and see attitude and definitely don't go changing Sunday untill you're sure the PR's aren't coming.

Edit* You wen't from 74.5x5 to 75.5x4 on bench, correct? That's good to go. Have you ever lifted 75.5 for 4 before? Or at least for a while? A pr's a pr dude. Don't sweat the small stuff. So maybe next time you get 5 reps with it...

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

nice logic. makes it look much easier to understand. about the option that sunday is just too taxing - could it be? 5'th set on sunday wasn't hard at all, it was nice and groovy, so I'm pretty sure I have a lot left (plus I did take 4 weeks of running, so it deosn't look like the problem). I guess we have to wait and see

regarding the sumo - it is really a peace of cake at this moment. I think I can do (2 months from now) - 138 kg x 5.

no man, I did 75x4 4 months ago (or similiar if memory serves), so yeah it's a pr.

anyway, from now on I'm gonna have my mental focus on sunday's (if at all). you know, this lift you're thinking about all week, be it squat, bench, or deadlift.

Ok, I didn't have a connection to the internet this week, and right now I'm writing from my uncle's computer.

this week I moved to Tel Aviv from Jerusalem, and I'm still trying to get familiar with everything around me. New apartment, new gym, new set of stupid mirrors disturbing me while squatting , etc'.

But enough of excuses, tradition is tradition, so here are this week's workouts:

30x5
42x3
55x2
66x5x5 - had at least 1 more in the tank in the last set (1 kg more than last week)

chest supported rows:
barx5x2
20x5
30x3

3\10\07 - Light day

sumo dl:
60x5x2
73x3
86x2
100x4x1 - was sure I had 5, but it was hard. still, it's very easy for me to keep my technique and form perfect, unlike regular deadlifts, even when I'm close to my max. anyway, I'm still practicing technique, so I'm no bothered. also didn't have chalk with me, and I had lots of sweat. btw, do you think I should use 5 reps in all of my sets (like: 60x5, 70x5, 80x5, 90x5, 100x5), or just keep it that way?

press:
barx5x2
23x5
30x3
35x2
42x5x3 - last rep last set was hard. do you guys think I should do 5x5 with the press, or stay with 3x5 and change when I get stuck?

front squat:
barx5x2
30x5
40x3
50x5x2 - just to get full ROM
