Default trhodizz's journal

hey guys.. i hadn't worked out heavily in 2 years before this, but im now full speed ahead and 7 weeks into getting into shape for the summer and beyond. have been keeping track of my progress in a notebook, but id much rather get some feedback from people who know what they are talking about. started off at 5'10" 152 16% bf

as of today, after my morning poop, 161 and 12% bf

taking whey, creatine monohydrate, a multi, omega-3, glutamine post workout.

diet is something i need to get a hold on, as ive been trying to put on mass more than anything else. ive put on 9 pounds and lost fat while i was at it, and i look WAY better than i did before. specifically in my shoulders and my chest, theyve doubled in size since i started. being the end of march, i figure i still have a solid month of bulking up to do before i start worrying about getting rid of the tiny bit of chub i have on my stomach.

today im doing chest and some legs, ill let you guys know how it goes.

Good luck, sounds like you're doing well so far. Check out the nutrition section stickies, if you haven't already.

thanks man. just got back from the gym, ran to the store to grab some much needed milk for my shake, and here i am. did a workout today that i saw on here (Rippetoe's) that was a bit out of the ordinary to me but man, am i sore.

squats - 3x10-8-6 145/165/185
deadlifts - 3x5 165
barbell rows - 3x8 145
flat bench - 3x10 135

im used to isolating muscle groups on specific days, but since my main goal at the moment is to put on mass, i realized i needed to incorporate squats and deadlifts into my routine. ive seen everyone talking about the natural GH boost you get from each of those exercises, so im gonna attempt to do this workout once or twice a week. my lower back feels ridiculous right now, and i almost fell down the stairs leaving the gym.

also, i usually do 20 sets per workout, so cutting it down to 12 today felt good. with these exercises i couldnt see myself doing much more anyway.

There's no point in feeding the cortisol monster. If you can't make it to the gym because of school then you can't make it. Don't add that to the stress of tests.

feeding the cortisol monster, haha i love that. made me laugh out loud in the middle of the library.

im a second semester senior in college and i have 6 weeks of school left total, so i guess youre right. might as well suck it up for now and get it done.
