Update:
I'm doing pretty well, comparatively, and healing decently quickly. I'll be living at the hospital at least through the new year, but things are better and better every day. I haven't weighed in lately, my best guess is that I'm somewhere around 155-160 soaking wet. Ugh. I DO have some kickass scars, though. Can't wait to get back to lifting, spirits are high at this point. Be well all.

That really sucks man.

Its awesome you're healing up at a good rate, though. I wish a complication free and speedy recovery to you.

Ha. OH. MAN. Do NOT get me started on hospital food. It's incredibly terrible. I was able to bring in my protein powder once I got put on solid foods so I'm getting a little more from that, but I'm still basically skin and bones at this point. Can't even lift my hands over my head

The good news: I now CAN lift my hands over my head. I'm progressing at a rate the doctors have seen extremely rarely, instead of being here till New Years I'll now be going home on the 12th! Good deal.
The bad news: I thought I lost about 20 pounds. Turns out that wasn't the case. I lost 32 pounds... The worst part is that it could be up to a year before I can start lifting again. I really hope it won't take that long, but there's a good chance.
More good news: whatever the case, I'm still alive. I should have been obliterated by that SUV, so even if I can't lift for a year... life is still good, comparatively.

That's awesome news. Way to have a good attitude about it. It's great that you'll be home for the holidays. Thanks for keeping us posted. You're still in my prayers. I hope you maintain the speedy recovery. Take care
