Bench Press technique.

yeah i agree that the bar should lightly touch your chest before pushing it upwards again

I don't care for the touch lightly. Personally, if it doesn't rest on the chest, it's not a real press. Not just refering to those who bounce it, but if it doesn't actually sit, then I didn't do it right. But that's me.

Also, if you want to get stronger, don't full extend your arms. You are taking all of the weight and pressure from your muscles to your elbows and joints. You must be able to lock it out, especially if you compete, but don't go that extra space when training. It is WAY more stressful to not fully extend for your muscles, if you are a consistant lifter, you will see a big difference.

I used to do it and I used to have shoulder trouble. I switched to a much narrower bench grip and a really narrow military press grip and it's helped my shoulder health immense. that issue go away also the more you do it the better you get at it.

the main technique and procedure for this is that you must always be slow while doing bench press the rod should move downwards slowly towards to your chest touching slightly and then slowly must move up that's the correct procedure of it.
and the most important thing is never breath with your mouth while bench press as through this the power gets reduced

you should be careful when working out with benchpress, you can injure yourself...

Basically, small people is much stronger on bench than taller people.

Why? because tall people has long limbs.

My weakness also is bench press because i am also 6ft tall.

Usually in a powerlifting competition most of taller people use wide grip bench press in order to press heavier in a short range motion when doing the press.

My suggestion is you do 6x6 bench press and increase every bench workout.
do also narrow grip bench press, reverse grip bench press and dips. This will help you get stronger in your press.

also do shoulder press behind the neck.

all this workout helps you get stronger in your presses that make you increase in your bench press.
