Didn't Benedict magnusson DL 500k (1100) at the arnold classic? thought that was the world record?

^^^ He wasn't using a real, legal DL bar...that was rigged up for the tires. The starting bar height was higher than usual and he was using straps. His range of motion because of the flex in that bar was less than usual also. Compare the starting positions in the two videos & you'll see a big difference right away. I guess you'd call it a strongman deadlift or something.

From what I understand, Magnusson used to have the DL record at...970 or something like that, but Bolton has set I think 3 records since then.

Yes that pull is more like a rack pull because of starting height and it also has a much more progressive weight (kinda like pulling with bands or chains) due to the massive amount of bar bend. Anyways, both are very impressive lifts!

Thanks for the vids.
