Okay guys this should be pretty easy to do, first we need to designate the level associated to each "rank"...

What do you think about the following post count scheme...

Level 1 -- 1 TO 499 POSTS
Level 2 -- 500 TO 999 POSTS
Level 3 -- 1000 TO 1,999 POSTS
Level 4 -- 2,000 TO 3,499 POSTS
Level 5-- 3500 TO 5,499 POSTS
Level 6 -- 5,500 TO 9,999 POSTS
Level 7-- 10,000+ POSTS

As you can see its a tiered program which it gets harder to achieve the next rank. Let me know if you guys think this is too hard or too light or if you have another post count scheme that you would like to suggest. Right now I just want to get the post count and name associated to each level set then we can decide what type of features to build into the site that use the ranking system.

I also need some level names to replace instead "Level 1" etc... so suggestions for each level name such as "rookie", "VIP", etc would be appreciated if your good at that type of thing.

Looks good.. It shouldn't be too easy, and I like how the margin increases the higher the level. Maybe this could be slightly downsized to make it more attainable..

We could just copy what intense muscle does in regards to names (not the actual relation of post counts):

New Member -- 1 TO 499 POSTS
Bantamweight -- 500 TO 999 POSTS
Lightweight -- 1000 TO 1,999 POSTS
Middleweight -- 2,000 TO 2,999 POSTS
Light Heavyweight-- 3,000 TO 4,499 POSTS
Heavyweight -- 5,000 TO 7,499 POSTS
Superheavyweight-- 7,500+ POSTS

This works out to:

New member -> Bantamweight = +500 posts
-> Lightweight = +500
-> Middleweight = +1,000
-> Light Heavy = +1,000
-> Heavy = +2,000
-> Super Heavy = +2,500

Since this is a bodybuilding forum, I think this idea is awesome. Of course the numbers can be tweeked higher or lower..This is only a rough estimate.
