Default Amino Acids

I don't currently take any supplements to get any amino acids in my diet and was thinking about adding some in. I know you can get some from your protein sources but probally not enough to be hugely beneficial.

Do you guys take any supps to get your amino acids and if so what brand would you suggest? I am probally going to pick up some Optimum Amino 2222 softgels since all the brands seem to be the same when it comes to ingredients. Also do you think they are even beneficial or just a waste of money?

I never really thought that they were that beneficial at all Sleazy. I just remember I used to take them in my younger days, thinking I was going to turn into the next Lee Haney!

I know John Berardi recommends a certain amino acid profile for post-workout drinks, I just don't know how important they really are.

Now you got me curious and I will do a little research on them.

Aminos aren't steroids!
Wow, I think the exact opposite. I find them most beneficial in my preworkout drink. I can definately feel a difference in endurance taking them. I take the Parillo Performance ones. They are expensive, so I think in my next trip to the store I'm going for the On aminos. I have alot of faith in their products, so I would recommend getting them without even trying them yet!!

I think BCAA's are prob. one of the best suppliment investments you can make. They help spare muscle when cutting, and help build it when bulking. They also help cut recovery time down significantly.

right now I'm using scivation Xtend, it seems exspensive, but the can has lasted me two months already, and I should be able to get another out of it.

Sleezy, go with Prolab's BCAA's hands down. I just made it back from the supplement store and read the back of all the labels. Most of what I read said less than 250 mg per amino. Prolab was WAY above that. I didn't need to buy any but that's the one I now recommend.

I have always been a proponent of BCAA's. You could get the bulk powder from BN.

That's true. Depending on your diet, you can get enough of them naturally.
