In my opinion, Talo, if you are eating enough and getting enough protein in the it would be a waste to take in extra bcaa's. People employ them for cutting to supposedly spare lean muscle mass but even then you are theoretically taking in enough protein. If you took in shitloads of bcaa's then maybe it would make a difference but as far as clinical evidence to support this practice it is very slim, with unrelated studies, different methodologies, and, to my knowledge, only one positive result.

I could be mistaken but I think it was done on wrestlers but I haven't seen the full text. I just remember seeing an abstract which was not detailed enough to do any good...for instance I don't know how much protein they were taking in.

For me, when I take enough bcaa's pre-workout I notice a significant training effect. Up to a point of course, since it wears off after a few weeks. Which could just mean I'm (used to it). You can never be sure with sups. But what I get is a sort of anti-fatigure effect. I have more energy and go toward the end of the workout. Can get in a few more reps a little heavier. Along with cit malate this is very pronounce. I'd actually say it was more significant than creatine but along with creatine it all could be very sinergistic. That's the only thing I know to be happening.

ANY other effect from them is faith based only. Indeed, the evidence shows no difference between bcaa's, protein, or carbs.

This is only my opinion based on what I've experience and the evidence I'm aware of, of course.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

That would make sence, since on off days I have a hard enough time using up the nutrients that I take in with just food. This will also help save some $$.

My BCAA's drink contains

0 sugar
L-Leucine 3.5g
L-Isoleucine 1.75g
L-Valine 1.75g
L-Glutamine G5 matrix 4g

B3 20mg
B6 10mg
B12 5mcg
C 30mg

I tend to switch from before the workout to in the middle. I do notice when I start to take it in the middle my energy levels go up.

For me BCAA's work great when cutting. I have heard of a few people who superdose them when bulking, and they seem to enjoy the results.

I know bro. No offence but I don't pay too much attention to people's supposed results in terms of mass when it comes to sups. There is no way someone can definitively say that a sup caused their results. I listen to recommendations but always temper that with the scientific evidence.

That is not to say I don't believe there is possible benefit but that there is just not enough evidence for I myself to recommend them for this purpose.
