Default Fish Oil Question

After reading and being told Fish Oil is a must I went out and bought a bottle tonight. I got it at Wal-Mart, Spring Valley Omega 3 Fish Oil 1000mg.

My questions is how much should I take? The bottle says to take a softgel 3 times a day after a meal. 3k mg seemed like a lot.
The bottle reads:
Natural Fish Oil Concentrate 1000mg
EPA 180mg
DHA 120mg

I am also taking Prolab Mono Creatine, Protein, and a daily vitamin. Loosing fat and trying to bulk up.

Thanks for any help!!!

For most people, 6-9g/day is a good number. That would be 6-9 pills since yours are 1000mg (1000mg = 1g).

I take them in threes. So 2-3 doses per day of 3 pills each.

I have also read that some people take flax seed oil. If both flax and fish oil have the omega 3 should I just take one of them or should I take both of them combined?

Goal: loose body fat, bulk up a lot, then cut right before summer.

Supps now:
Creatine
Protein
Daily vitamin
Fish oil (as of today)
Flax seed ????????

Thanks for all the info!!!!

Flax Oil doesn't have EPA and DHA (which are omega 3's.). It contains Omega 3 in the form of alpha linoleic acid. That is supposed to be a precursor to EPA and DHA but people don't believe the body can necessarily make enough so they take fish oil. ALA also has other uses by the body and fish oil DOES NOT contain ALA so some people like to use both flax and fish oil for that reason. Also flax oil has an almost ideal ration of omega 3, 6, and 9's.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.
