Default should i take protein?

i was given some 100% whey protein for christmas and i was wondering if i should even bother taking it. I dont want to bulk up and train mainly to get really defined and lose a little weight, so would taking a little whey protein help or hurt me reaching my goals?

It wouldn't hurt. Whey protein is just protein.

You can be heavy. You just have to eat more. Protein shakes are a way to supplement your daily protein intake. It's no better and no worse than eating a chicken breast.

A protein shake after a workout won't really help you to heal more quickly. A carb/protein shake that's a 3:1 ratio of carbs to protein will help.

Taking protein will help you gain weight if your over all calories are above maintaince. Protein itself will not cause you to gain weight or lose weight . It's all in what you eat !

It is a good supplement that can HELP you reach your goals.

I always giggle when people say they are afraid of lifting and taking supplements because they don't want to get too bulky....

Weight training can be used to reduce weight too. Protein could help you lose weight.

It's a little weird when people ask about "taking" protein as if it is aspirin or something.

i see what ya saying though .. when ya eating foods with protein it probably feels a lil more natural then supplementing .. protein is just like any other supplemnt just as creatine is in fish and red meats its fine it will just get more protein in your diet
