Default Best addition to my Gatorade bottle?

I love Gatorade and drink it both during and post workout. I like it because it gives me a good deal of potassium and decent recovery. But I want to take it one step further - what is the best supplement that I can mix in with my Gatorade bottle?

I'm not very sophisticated with my supplements, I only take creatine and have a protein shake every once in a while (prefer to get my protein from meats). So, what powders/products should I be looking at that would mix well with my drink? A whey protein powder? Something else?

Since you drink it both during and after, my vote goes to BCAA's. I could also see trying CEE as well. CEE = Creatine Ester Ether, and it's very cheap. IMO, if you mix it with whey, I cannot imagine it tasting very good.

I can't imagine it tasting very good if you mix it with BCAA's either. But that would be my vote as well. Also citulline malate. I think your desire to sip it during your workout would go out the window though .

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

Everything has been mentioned already but if your sipping on this during your workout I would go with BCAA's, citrulline malate, or the taurine for energy. Afterwards for recovery you can always toss in glutamine.

As far as taste, BCAA's maybe the worst out of the bunch but if you get a brand such as Xtend (grape) that has a pretty decent flavor it would go well with gatorade.

Are you saying that you don't take a protein shake after your workout? If so I would really suggest switching to a whey shake as it is absorbed much faster than whole foods which helps to prevent protein breakdown from your workout. You already have the carbs from your gatorade (I believe the powdered version is sweetened with dextrose) but you may want to consider just going with a protein shake plus some bulk carbohydrates such as maltodextrin or dextrose instead of mixing stuff with gatorade.

Great replies - appreciate the help guys! I'll have to look into BCAAs since I'm really not that familiar with them, but I do know they're essential.

I found a whey protein powder thats flavorless, AnyWhey, so right now it goes well with Gatorade.
