LOL, TALO, your friend is being not very bright. Of course I backed off the dosage and all that but it wasn't around the workout that gave the problems it was just the random symptoms the rest of the time.

With the bloating, btw, I'd ask the standard question...how much water did you mix it with? I've never heard of malto causing much bloating. It's usually dex that gives people the most trouble. Like you said, we're all different. I suspect the big difference between the malto/dex and the WMS in that respect is that WMS is somewhat more foolproof. Whereas with malto/dex you need to get the the right dilution (not exact but close enough). You have to play around with it until you get it right. I'll bet most people do not or are unwilling to do that. None of this stuff is standard, it requires some user discretion and education. People are so intent on everything being instananeous and easy....but these are just carbs, not "designer supplements".

Ross, I keep it pretty much half and half but I'm not sure how much carbs total I use anymore. I'd have to pay more attention. I do get some stomach bloat at the very beginning but I do want to say that some people are just being total babies about bloating. I use a lot of water, of course and I down a whole bunch of it at the beginning along with the carbs, protein, and creatine. So my stomach is full of water. Drink a bunch of water and see if your stomach doesn't feel bloated. It goes away in about five minutes and I continue to sip the rest....don't confuse a full stomach with "bloat" which involves not only a bunch of liquid being pulled in but unabsorbed stuff sitting around, gas formation, cramping, etc.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

I use about 750ml of water per scoop (50g carbs) I was putting in two scoops but cut that back. I also through in CEE.

You did make a good point about the water. No matter what if you drink alot of water your going to feel bloated. Along with the 750ml I drink another liter during my workout. Then prob 500ml more with some protein,CEE and carb.....So 2L of water within 1hr is alot..

Oh, BTW....it's about time we all see what you look like, Eric

Yeah, that's one of my better photos. After the orthodontic work but between full-body waxes

Anyway, Talo, it's like I was saying. 750 ml's all at once and then following it with a liter...it's just too much water at once. It's good sipping something during the workout cuz that keeps things moving out of the stomach but it's the volume of liquid at the beginning that causes the problem. Just plain water is enough to cause gi upset if you drink too much at once. It's dilute enough probable (although I would have used a liter of water) so it's not the "stuff" in the water but just too much at once.

I'm not saying to stop using WMS if is works. I'm just putting this out there in case someone is having these problems. Don't automatically blame it on the carbs because, like I said, it's probably user error. But again, a mixture of carbs would be better in that case because if you take in enough of one type all at once the gut won't absorb it all and it'll end up causing GI distress. I keep saying malto+dex for a reason . If you want the carbs pre-workout at all, that is.

For me I am not going to take creatine pre-workout anymore. I don't really need to do that at all. This way I will drink a little less before and sip it during the workout.

I hear what your saying. It's just that when I use the maltodextrine I feel heavier than when I use the WM. And the water quantity doesn't change.

However I will be useing up the rest of my maltodextrine after my WM is done....I don't have a problem with it. Just need to find the right mixture.

All of that sounds right. I've finally gotten the right amount in my shakes, I think. It took a week or two, but I kind of figured it was just dependent on the person, etc. I always try to mix mine in 10oz of water and drink it right before my workout. Then I make sure to drink lots of water during my workout... I normally sip between each set. I just hate drinking a lot of water at one time before because I feel sick.

Ayup, Talo I too noticed that WMS felt a bit lighter. Certainly not SOO much better for me since I think I had my mixture down to start with. I'm just providing a little feedback so those who have a couple pounds of malto and/or dex don't get too discouraged if they bloat or crash at first.

I know for those of you who don't believe in or don't want carbs pre-workout this is probably a lot of talk for nothing, but it's just there to hopefully be helpful to those who need it.

When I was trying to alleviate the symptoms I was getting from the WMS I also ended up mixing it with malto and dex. This worked well also. But the symptoms never resolved completely so I had to drop the WMS.
