HSFootball, are you talking about protein like Body Fortress, from Wal-Mart? That's what I take, (I am by no means where I would like to be in terms of size), but I have been curious about its effectiveness compared to the more expensive brands like EAS. Does any body know how much better (assuming they are) the more expensive brands are?
Whey should not be used as the only means of protein intake.
The more expensive brands are typically worse. If it's 2.5lbs or less and costs more than $25, then don't buy it.
What, they're worse? I'm glad I have never bought any, then. The one I buy is Body Fortress 5-Lb for $33.
"Whey should not be used as the only means of protein intake." I eat a variety of low-fat meats, as well as dairy products. Should I be taking some other type of powdered protein? |
You could take some casein at night. Not absolutely necessary, but it prevents muscle catabolism. Something to think about anyway. Eating cottage cheese at night before bed should do the same thing.
Oh, now I know what you mean (I think) They are slow-acting proteins, right?
slow digesting

Oh, I-C, thanks. I am doing everything I can to stay serious about training (and nutrition), so I will start doing this, for sure.
