Default Joint supplement?

I was considering taking a simple Joint supplement and I was wondering if you guys think it would be necessary? I am doing the Rippetoe routine and so far havent experienced any considerable pain, besides some back pain. Should I start taking some joint supps as a preventive measure for when I start doing heavy weight? My knees make cracking/popping noises sometime, but its nothing serious really. Just basically trying to figure out if these supplements are for preventive or for treatment. Thanks guys!

I take a brand from vitamin shoppe to keep my joints from getting jacked up when I do BJJ. Seems to work for me.

I guess it wouldn't hurt . Stick with something with just the specific joint stuff without the added vitamins and mins so that you get more bang for you buck since you're no doubt already taking vitamins and minerals. Just my opinion though.

Don't worry too much about the noisy knees. If there is not pain or problems it's probably completely normal. I get the popping and crackling knees sometimes but it never seems to coincide with any actual problems. I've read that it can be something that can go on for years and not really signify any bad problems. But of course that's no guarantee and it could mean some type of wear happening. The knees are pretty good about informing us when something is really wrong.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

Glucosamine Sulfate may take a part in supporting lubrication and supporting sulfate uptake in particular cartilage.

Go to your bx and pick up the exchange msm with glucosamine complex. It's like 5 dollars for a months worth and it has definitely helped. When lifting heavier weights i dont get near the joint pain i used to.

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.
