no you can start taking it now, just step up your cardio a little to drop the fat. The whey protein will help you build muscle

Don't pay to much attention to the scale though you may loose weight in fat and then gain some back in muscle . Use the mirror to judge how you look. Muscle weights more than fat

Default yeah

yeah I catch myself doing that alot, I will look at the scale thinking losing pounds is good but, it is probably bad since I am trying to gain muscle in the process. Are there scales that measure body fat, I have heard of them but, do they work?

there are scales like that, i don't think they work all too well but ultimately if your not bodybuilding then just use the mirror to gauge what areas you think you need to improve on. I do use the scale every once in a while to see where I'm at but am not one of those guys who check every day.

The only time you really need it is in your pre and post workout shakes. Other than that you should be getting real food.

I'm with Dr. X, just pre and postworkout. Other than that, I personally like to drink a scoop as soon as I wake up. You aren't eating if you're sleeping, so IMO it's important to shuttle some protein into your body as fast as possible to regain a positive nitrogen balance.

I forgot to mention. If I am bulking I like to have one next to my bed so when I wake up in the middle of the night I can slam one down as well.

Yeah, me too. I usually wake up from hunger pains 9 times out of 10.
