Default Almost done with Bill Starr 5x5, suggestions ?

I have almost 3 weeks of the program left and my five rep maxes have improved. I'm actually able to bench over 200 for more than 1 rep. My deadlift for reps of five is currently at 330 for week 6, and my squat is at 300 for week 6. I'm looking for something a bit more challenging after I take a week rest. It works out well cause it ends just before Thanksgiving too Can't wait to test out my new PR's.

Depends on what your goals are mark. Personally i could give two shit about hypertrophy. I would look at some of the power lifting routines. Either that or check out Lyle McDonalds bulking routine. I know quite a few people who grew very well with this.

Strength. I want nothing to do with size. I like looking normal in my clothes. I'm actually thinking of doing the program again and milking it for all its worth.

Good call, Why change it if its working?

Thats what I'm sayin, If I look average, and can lift a house, thats a lot more useful then being huge. Its all about strength man.

If I remember correctly, you were doing the intermediate version? If I were you, I'd keep the outline the same, but drop the rep ranges to 1x3 and 3x3 such as in the advanced "intensity" version. Keep those strength gains rising!

That's what I do, basically, what 0311 said.

I think it's a great idea to milk it for all it's worth. Especially as long as you feel good. Running 5x5 of any kind can get a little punsihing on the joints because of the lack of variety and whatnot. But other than that if you feel healthy, go for it!

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.
