Default Arm Pain

Today I woke up with a terrible arm pain. Underneath my underarm & underneath my elbow. I talked to kid at school and he said its happened to him b4 and to stretch more b4 you lift. I did deadlifts, followed by farmer walks, alot more weight than usual on the farmers but.... Im thinking its something serious, its hurts to stretch out my arm sometimes and when i apply pressure/

It's got nothing to do with stretching before you lift. Ice it down. Read the first page of the injury sticky. Sounds like you at least have a strain.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

Sprains are of the joint (i.e. ligaments) Strains are basically mild muscle (or tendon) pulls. Why would you think you'd have to injure both arms at once? Have you ever heard of anyone spraining their ankles instead of their ankle?

It's either something is injured and inflamed in some way or you have a mysterious illness that causes a weird pain in you arm

and the reason i dont understand why it only happened to one arm is because the only way i think i could have really strained it is from deadlifts or farmers, but im thinking farmers. same weight each hand.? doesnt make sense to me really.

You shouldn't do something that will hurt you worse than you allready are. You will end up spending more time out of the gym. You at least want to rest up the injured part so it can heal.

If you haven't taken a week or so off in a while, now might be a good time to do that.

I'm gonna guess your right handed. That would make it your "strong" arm and would explain why you could strain one arm and not the other...even though you're doing exercises with both arms involved at the same time.

AND, you don't stretch before a workout...you warmup. Stretching can weaken muscles and thats not what you want before jerking up a bar on deadlift or farmer's walk.

I agree with the other advice posted as well.

In the injury sticky it says to____
Step 1: Stop! Stop training. Stop moving around as soon as you can and try to asses the inury. Just don’t damage it further. If you hurt yourself somewhere in your upper body that doesn’t mean you should ignore it and switch to legs. The sooner you begin treatment, the better.

Now I`d imagine I have a grade I muscle strain because it hurts, but yet throughout the day today it`s progressively getting better. Also im bored as fuck when I cant workout and probably get my self into doing dumb shit I dont need to be doin. I need to work out.
