Default PWO streaching?

I know the importance of pre and post workout streaching, but I had a question about the PWO (Post Work Out) streaching.
If the goal of lifting weights is to inflict "micro tears" in the muscle(obviously get bigger), wouldn't streaching in PWO tear more muscle tissue even further?
Is this the a true statement?

Thanks for any input. Pete.

I dont' think there is enough force to cause micro tears while stretching. I think you are actually elongating the fibers when you are stretching. Although I could be wrong.

It's spelled "stretching" by the way.

lol

some people suspect that if you were cut a piece of muscle off...in between tendons...that it would be flimsy as hell...like...you could stretch it to china...so what you're actually stretching is your tendons and connective stuff anyways.
