So what I'm doing should still be better then regular cardio though right? I'm getting more miles in a lot less time. Also if needed I can adjust the difficulty on peddeing, almost to where it seems imposible to peddle.(won't be on that setting anytime soon)

yes, even when I was doing hiit on the eliptical, I was only doing 20min total, and it was much better then just running for 40min. I cant give you numbers because my wieght stayed the same, but I was lifting very heavy and saw an amazing recomp.

Thats way back when i was only 210lbs

I saw on the news acouple of weeks ago that scientists reckon if you do interval training to sprint for 8 seconds then stop for 12
They say it burns fat for up to 3 hours after the actual exercise.
I don't know if that helps any....

Ozzi, that is whats known as Hiit training, thats exactly what we are talking about here. I think the interval you stated is a little short, but none the less you have the right idea.

One thing on my original post, I warm up for 5 minutes not 50.
5 minute warm up and 5 minutes of HIIT then after two session 6 then 7 and so on. The idea is to increase your heart each time and the end result is increased metabolism throughout the day. You really don't have to over do it. Trust me, you get up to around 8 minutes and you are dieing. 30 second intervils by the way.

Yeah i know what HIIT is mate
8 seconds of a full on sprint would defintly be a hard workout if you only have 12 seconds recovery. It's all up to your preference i guess, i prefer to do 30 on 15 off sprints on my bike
