Default Chiropractic

up untill about 8 months ago I was making regular trips to the chiropractor. I have since moved, changed health care providers, ect ect. I am feeling at this point that it is effecting my training, and my well being.

How many of you guys make regular visits to either the doctor, or chiropractor for training and general health purposes? To tell you the complete truth, I miss it, and I dont know what i'm gonna do without it.

Hey hrdgain,

I go to the Chiro, at least once every two weeks. Ideally I would prefer to go once a week, but insurance will only cover 20 visits a year.

I used to have only 10 vistits covered per year and at that time I made a deal with a Chiro. I only paid every other visit or he gave me a flat rate to pay and I had unlimited visits each month.

In my city, I kid you not, there are tonz of restuarants, dentists, and chiro's. If this is the case where you live try and see if you could strike a deal with one. They are a dime a dozen, so if they want your business they will work something out with you.

As far as medical doctor's I hate going there, but I know it' s for my own good. Everytime I go in, my BP is high, because I'm so damn nervous being in there. After they turn off the lights and let me relax in the patient bed they take my BP again and it's normal. I hate going, but I want to live a long healthy life and this is a neccessary evil to me.

Good luck hrdgain, and try to strike a deal with a Chiro., what's the worst that could happen, he/she might say yes!

sup bros,
I used to go to the chiro often, now I have my brother crack it, or I adjust it, or my mom works out kinks because she is a massage therapist.
Snachito has a good Idea, I know ther are a bunch of doctors trying to come up, they need business. Ive always had cool doctors, or im just an optimist.
My doctor is cool, weve shared stories, ive gotten blodwork from him, he knows about my eating habits and ill inform him on any usage so he will be able to explain what the numbers actually mean to me.

I dont go th a chiro anymore, but have gone to other healing practitioners. Ive gone to a deep tissue massues/chiro, Reiki (extremely cool if into), and I want to try acupuncture sson, it is fascinating to study up on the techniques.

The last guy I went to was for ART, Active release technology - http://www.activerelease.com/providerSearch.asp My guy was cool, he is a high class guy in a ritzy area, and my ins pays for it. I found it extremely helpful.
I have a shoulder/neck problem. My 5th vertabrea is messed up. Ive always had chiros tell me about it. Everything is combined, my neck stress traveled to my shoulder, and hampered my well being. ART really helped me. It is a mix between deep tissue massage and movements to releas scar tissue, he also adjusted me to make sure my posture was correct, and in line. He was originally a chiro, and went into ART. So it is a mix of things that worked great for me. I wish I would have gone before.

The structure of visits I had with him was 3 times a week first 3 weeks, then 2 times a week for 2-3 weeks, then once a week for 2 weeks, and now I can go whenever i may need it, but I learned a lot, and he gave me good advice on my habits for sitinnnng at work and working my problem neck and shoulder areas. good stuff.

Joey, if you get the chance to go to an acupunture practitioner do it. I used to go when i still lived up north. It was exspensive, but it was the only thing that got rid of my headaches after my car accident. it is truely amazing stuff.

I found a new chiropractor, and i am going tomorrow. it is 35 a visit for what he calls wellness care. basicly up keep an shit, w/o any severe injury work to be done. my insurace will cove $9 dollars of that ... but its not that bad if I only go every two or three weeks.

One of my employees is a certified masseuse. I get freebies. And for the record, not like you think you dogs.

I used to go for $20 bucks a visit. For my first visit, they gave me a chart of the human body and asked me to circle what area is in pain. I circled the whole chart and he got mad. He asked me what I did for a job that could possibly warrent me to circle the whole thing. After I said the infantry he hooked me up.

I don't go to a doc regularly, but know I should for several reasons. I keep telling myself to go and get some checkups. I haven't ever been to a chiropractor or a massage therapist, but have always wanted to go.
