you can only edit posts after you have posted 50 some odd times, I think.. It's to stop noobs from deleting posts after they make stupid arguments.

Well, I'm glad you are picking a goal but in doing such you have to make sure it is a least a little attainable. 5 months to prep for a show, i.e., 3 to bulk and 2 to cut, with no idea on what your diet should be is not a good start. Read the stickies and articles on diet and nutrition, bulking and cutting first. That will give you a better idea on what you need to do.
Thanks. I think my goal is attainable. Yes I want to win the competition (why try if I didn't want to win) but I didn't put the goal to win first place just yet because I know people do this as a career and have been doing it for a while. I am not hoping for a miracle, I just dont want to embarrass myself when I get up there. I got my hands full right now and I put myself in a position where I cant back down or give up because everyone knows now AND thats what I wanted and needed just a little motivation.

I joined this forum just becasue of it ;) So I am making a little bit of progress. I will keep you guys updated on the progress. I do have Before pictures. In the mean time help me out on what you think I should do.

I looked at your sig info on your plans good info.

If you're 21% body fat, you're going to need more time then 2 months to cut. Otherwise you're going to be losing lots of muscle too. Also, be prepared to sacrifice some strength for the sake of looking "cut."

I totally missed that. Sorry man but there is no way you are going to look stage ready in 5 months if you want to bulk then cut at 21% body fat. You have to be at least 4% to not look like a out of shape. I'll give you 6% if you really want. Do you even know what weight class you would compete in?

Good call IW. I didn't see that he was at 21% bf...you're good at reading.

Two months definitely isn't enough time for cutting from 21% bf...not if you're intending on maintaining muscle mass. If you had more time, then you would be much better off. Is there a competition you could do in about 9 months?

There is one in about 8 months. And I plan on doing that one too.

I will still compete on August 31st, just to get the experience. I cant and dont want to back out of it now.

What is a realistic amount of time to cut down? So I can plan this out better for the one in November?

It is different for everyone, but I would say 5 months with a strick diet.
You should look into hiring someone that diet competitors. If you haven't done this yet. They are worth there weight in gold if you don't know what your doing. Plus , they will see you almost every day and change things up by looking at your progress.
