Default Competition In 5 months

Well, I have decided to take a hugh step and do my first competition. I have been of working out for about 5 months and have no clue how to go about training for competition. I figured I would bulk up for about 3 months (High weight, low reps, not much cardio, lots of BCAA, glutimine, NO-explode, casein protein and whey) then shred down the last 2 months. Other than that I have no F ing clue. Any basic suggestions?

Gona need a little more about what you have done, workout and diet wise, in the past and what you are doing now. I mean, from this post you have given us, it tells me you are just jumping in and have not researched anything first.

^^^ X2

You won't be able to bulk for 3 months, then cut for two months and be in competition shape.

Post your diet and routine......

Exactly jumped right in. I was sick of working out for a few weeks then stopping then repeating the whole process over again, so I made a goal and told my friends about it so I wont back down this time haha. A friend of mine competes and asked if I wanted to join him I said sure.

My routine. Thats why I am here to get on the right track.
Right now: Diet is almost everyday.
3 Boiled eggs whole
rice Crispy's
8 oz Pineapple

Mid-
oatmeal and 1 scoop casine protein

Lunch-
2 turkey sandwiches on whole wheat
8 oz Brocciil
animal pak

Mid After-

oatmeal and scoop of casine

Dinner-

Usually chicken and some veggies

Pre work out-
1 scoop Whey 1 apple BCAA's, Glutamine, no explode

Work out-
1 scoop whey

Post-
1 scoop whey more glutamine

Bedtime-
1 hand full of mixed nuts and 1 scoop casein

Work out program is from muscle maginzine (How to gain 10 pounds of muscle in 4 weeks) so I just follow that in the evenings, and mornings I work on small muscle groups such as Forearms, Neck, and traps,

Right now I am 210 5'10 and about 21% b/f so I something to build on.

About a year ago I got out of the Marine Corps so I have been slacking lately tell you the truth.

I can tell you this though.

I have been working out 6 times a week an hour and half non-stop the last few weeks on this program and it seems to be paying off. I just recently starting doing mon wed friday mornings for about 30mins on my own program. I am just worried I am not doing enough to compete. Because I dont know when I can work in something else unless I do it at work.

I am part of car forums and can't seem to find the edit button do you guys have one? Because there is some mistakes that I need to fix such as the first post saying I have been working out for 5 months, that is supposed to be 5 years. Recently (after the Marine Corps) I have been off and on except for the last couple of weeks were I have been consistant.

The edit button is at the bottom of your post. The majority of your protein is coming from whey and casein. The shakes are made for pre and postworkout and possibly before bed. You need foods from whole sources like lean meats, whole grains, healthy fats. From what I see you have probably aren't eating enough. In order to bulk you need to eat alot. Your diet is probably shy under 2500 calories. Your body burns calories even when you aren't working out so you need to fill in that space with extra calories. BTW I would bulk for more than 3 months.

Thanks for the input. So how long should I bulk for? Remember I have only 5 months for this.

Just curious what is the minimal time you suggest for someone that is motivated to compete and doesn't want to embrass himself haha.

oooh 5 Years. That a little better. Well, I'm glad you are picking a goal but in doing such you have to make sure it is a least a little attainable. 5 months to prep for a show, i.e., 3 to bulk and 2 to cut, with no idea on what your diet should be is not a good start. Read the stickies and articles on diet and nutrition, bulking and cutting first. That will give you a better idea on what you need to do.
