Well then I suggest not bothering with the gym until January. Never do anything half assed IMO. Trust me, I've tried this many times in the Marines. I used to get shit faced 4 nights a week clubbing in southern CA for the 4 years I was in. I was also very serious about lifting as well. Unfortunately, I was spinning my wheels.. Essentially trying like hell to fight through the bouts of feeling weak in the gym. Even if I had a good month of gaining, I'd get sent to the field training for a month in the desert or something... Thus going back to square one! If I could do it over again, I would've just done circuit courses in the gym, maintaining combat readiness versus trying to lift for size.
Long rant, but the main idea is the same. Don't bother until Jan. and get all your fun and drinking in this month. It's easier setting your mind 100% on lifting vs. trying to make it in once or twice a week in between partying like a rockstar.
