Default Dips for chest

What are your opinion on dips for chest development. A friend at the gym suggest I start more on dips for my lower pecs. I am asking for you guys opinion on dips for lower chest. If agree how many reps per set?

My opinion is that the muscle you are calling lower chest is the same muscle as the rest of your chest.

If you could strictly work a portion of your chest, then I assume it would be a different muscle. Can you flex your lower chest without flexing the rest of your chest? It's all the same muscle. Muscle shape is genetic for the most part. Dips are good. Don't worry about trying to "shape" your muscles. Just make them bigger and they will become more aesthetic.

There are websites for that sort of stuff...

And there is no such thing as a "lower" chest.

Doing decline bench and doing dips while leaning forward are comparable movements. I like dips, because AI'm unsupported and more stabilizers come into play. Plus, doing declines give me a headache

Like the others have mentioned the chest is one muscle, but if I had to choose I would go with weighted dips for a movement over decline (mainly because I do not like the positioning). Good luck.
