I like a partner but only if they can keep up and keep me motivated. Nothing worse than someone that wants to talk the whole fuckin time. I find a good partner can really help me push the big weight around. Mostly psychological stuff, but for me that can mean the difference between hitting a 5lb PR or 20lb PR

I'm lucky enough to have a training partner who goes with me. He really only comes in handy on bench maxes or last sets, but I find having a partner is essential when your really pushing yourself on a strength focused program.

Although, sometimes I think its good to have the fear when lifting alone that if you don't push out the rep your going to be die under all the weight

Hahaha this is true. I like the point made about lifting stronger when someone else is around. For some reason this is the case with me to.

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.

It all depends on which body part I am working on. I usually need a spotter for chest and legs because I go to failure on my last set and need someone to keep me balanced, otherwise I could go about my workout by myself. Its good to workout with someone for me though because I am studying to become a trainer.

For the most part I lift alone with only a spotter for the really heavy stuff, but if I can find a good partner then I am open for working out together. Haven't found one yet though.....

Yeah, I'm a solo guy too! I try to get people to go but no one I know works out, at all. But I guess when they try to get me to do the things they love, like eat pizza or cake, I won't do that either so I suppose I cant complain. Plus the only people at my gym are largish lesbian women or skinny gay men. Sometimes the women spot me.
