Default do you lose strength if you stop working out

for like 4month?

nope....magical fairies fly around with strength for your muscles until you return to the gym...and once there, they relinquish your strength back to you

i went 2 years W/O working out and dropped from 225 bench press to 185, but i quickly shot up to 245 after 1 month.

four months is quite a long time to stop, yes you will lose strength

You will lose about 2.5lbs of muscle strength per week. Now this is not nature strength, but strength you have built up. So if you lay off for 4 weeks you on avg will lose 10lbs in strength.

I am not sure about giving an exact number here. We all have a different make up and this includes our strength.
