I mean here you are trying to come up with a plan and once you spend a bunch of time looking into crossfit you'll find that it's "workout's of the day" (WOD) which are more or less frigging random. Random stimuli...random results.

I'm sorry but I should have been a little more specific in what I meant.
Yes Crossfit is a bit of a gimmick and they are as random as you get, WOD to be specific. What I meant was to use the PDF file that I posted as a workout template for more of the conditioning side with weights. Those workouts are more of a staple in some crossfit centers and they use the max reps you get or time it took to complete a workout as a tracker. You would have to look at what they do as a workout and see if it fit to your profile of lifting, i.e., endurance for a specific task, fighting. Or, if anything, take the principles of the workouts, i.e., complete in an amount of time or perform more reps in an amount of time. One good example is the Burpee clean and press I do, Note crossfit did not come up with this I found it on the internet and added a press movement and a workout method. I started thinking about how many I actually do in 5 one minute rounds and I realized that I wasn't as much as I thought so I started using different workout methods so I can get to 10 reps in a minute with a minute break, somewhat similar to one of the methods crossfit uses. Thus far making this workout a staple but using the some of the workout methods of crossfit, helps with my overall goal, which is endurance and being explosive.
I was just trying to get you started but I should have been more specific.. my bad, work has been owning me and I've been scatter brained. I hope this clarifies what I meant. Now discuss.

Get me started you have Dave!
I love this shit, seriously, I haven't been this excited about things since the injury. I can't thank you guys enough for your help, or for you fueling the fire. I'm going to go through as much of this info as I can this weekend, and come up with a fully integrated plan, and post it up for critique.

Yep...Dave and me are on the same page. Although I obviously haven't studied it like Dave, Crossfit is best used for ideas and information but then arranged to fit into your needs. And as he pointed out, some of the crossfit centers don't really follow the hardline bs of Greg Glassman. It's a "brand".
Oh, and btw, I was in not way trying to imply that crossfit came up with all the exercises. Glassman was a gymnast and that's the root of most of the gymnastic stuff, plus they have their own modified "versions" of some exercises, some of which are good and some of which are ludicrous. It's a grab bag..but everything is like that. LOL, kind of fits in with my whole message of late..you gotta look around and take the good you can get from wherever you can get it. You don't have to be a disciple.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

my mma school doesn't really. They do their own WOD that is mostly timed rounds that involve explosive movements.

It is definitely a grab bag. only a couple "workouts" make sense and I wonder sometimes if it was on purpose or it just coincidence.

looks very interesting. I've seen the Grapplers press in Elite Fitness article this week. I'll have to give this site a good look through during the holidays.
