Default For fellas who ran the 5x5

I'm just curious on what accessory work you did for your bi's and tri's. I think im going to go with close grip bench or skullcrushers for tri and prob standing b-bell curls or preacher curls for Bi. Whats your guys experience? I'm getting my maxes this week and starting it next week after fully recovering from being in vegas for a month. Im pretty Damn PUMPED!!!!!

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.

Why would you pick a compound exercise like close grip bench for an "accessory"? Do an extension instead as your triceps get hammered quite enough from the bench/OHP's.

^^ agree, accessory work should be isolation work IMO. Its kinda the point of it. Skull crushers, extensions, pull downs will all work, good choices on the bi work

But did you do them???

I did something different every week when it came to arms.....loved them. And it sure didn't take much to get a good pump.

Usually I rely on chinups/pullups for bi's and if I do any tricep it is most definitely some type of extension...usually a skullcrusher.

But there really is no absolute need to do any extra arm work. That's why it's called accessories. And notice an accessory is different from an assistance exercise.

If you act sanctimonious I will just list out your logical fallacies until you get pissed off and spew blasphemous remarks.

I personally did barbell curls/pullups for biceps and skullcrushers/weighted dips for tris. Really you can do whatever you enjoy for the accessories exercises.
