I agree the guy was an idiot for handling the bar like that. Personally, I prefer a spotter to not actually touch the bar through the lift but be ready (correct technical position) in case something happens. This is also a good time to know your limits.

LOL, I was just reading back and I thought "Not to beat a dead horse" is a really annoying thing to say. Sorry, haha. That's like saying "not to be rude" right before you get rude.
