You should be eating 1 gram of protein per lb of body weight. Most of it should come from real food, but it's OK to supplement some of it through protein shakes.

You should also be getting 17+ calories per lb of body weight per day:

How long will it take you to get there? It really depends.

PS--the two supplements you mentioned are fine. Ad a multivitamin and you're set.

The rate of your gains depends on many things. The main things are staying strict with your diet and maintaining a good routine for your experience level.

Stay fairly strict on a high protein diet and kept up your training. Also keeping your alcohol intake to a minimum helps wonders... ask me how I know... I would say you could gain the 25lb of muscle in ~2 years. Oh yeah, good solid sleep makes a huge difference as well.

It depends on your genetics (and *alot* of other things) to a certain degree as well.

If you were absolutely 100% dedicated (no drinking, diet spot on, training very consistent) and you didn't mind if you gained some fat... then you might reduce that to 1-1.5yrs.

Making muscle takes time. Lots of it.
