Default Hit Deadlift Max (490lbs), now what? High reps?

Hello,

I just maxed out at 490lbs for my deadlift. Could barely lock it out. I've been working up doing very low reps (8, 5, 1, 1 reps) and now I just completely hit a plateau.

I usually do 4 working sets for deadlifts and then 4 sets of glute/ham raises, plus other back exercises (pull ups, rows).

Just wondering what you would recommend? Higher reps now, other exercises. Thanks.

Different rep ranges and different variations of the deadlift. You will bust through it eventually.

Agreed.

Look into the 5/3/1 by Jim Wendler.

I am on that program and recently did 430lb x 5. My previous best before starting the program was 395lb x 1. I hope to work up to a single around what you just hit.

Nice work btw.
