Default HIT Training

so i was reading up on this but i dnt think i completly understand it i mean how do u really get results off doing like 2 sets of like 10 workouts for the whole body three days i week? your suppose to do them at your max and increase it like 5-ten pounds every 2 weeks right? but i mean wouldnt a workout 4-5 days a week where u work out a diffrent part of the body everyday wouldnt that be more effective i mean you do more sets and you work the body part in more then just one workout.. is hit just for building strength or something??

Could you clarify a bit? Based on what you wrote, with HIT you're providing a stimulus for growth three times each week while with the split you mentioned, you're providing stimulus for growth only once each week. You answered your own question, I think.

I read Mentzer's HIT stuff years ago (and tried it). I don't believe in it--I just don't think the science backs it up. For strength/mass you will probably need to be doing 40-60 reps on a body part.

If I remember correctly, Mentzer himself got big on higher volume. He switched to HIT after already building his physique.

Go back 50, 60+ and farther and this is how all the great strongmen trained.

Reg Park swore by it, and he was good enough to be Arnies hero (and play Hercules)!
And Dorian Yates has been touting the 1 rep set for years, How many times did he win a Sandow??

Training 3 times a week is a good training program, splits are good as well, but training 5 times a week could be to much.

5 times a week is great for anyone starting out, it'll get the body more used to the weights and will grow with less injuries if done right.
