Default Hurt Back

I was just warming up for my quad workout. I was doing light leg extentions to get the blood flowing, when I got off my back was killing me. It's been hurting for a few hours now and won't seem to go away. Most of the pain is centerd in the middle of my back. Anyone have any idea on how to make it go away, and should I just take it easy for the next few days or what?

Ice it (no heat) and rest.

I kinked my back last week from a combinatio of heavy squats and dead lifts; I gave it a full week off. Its doing much better. I'll try a short workout tomorrow to see how it responds.

If you have a muscle rub, you can try it at night as well. It has limited effectiveness.

I also tried a good quality antioxidant (NO Oxidant) and was surprised that it hastened the healing of my back.

I don't use NSAIDs if I can help it. Too hard on the liver and kidneys.

I hurt my back not too long ago and the only thing that seemed to make it better was time off. I took 2 weeks off, and my back was fine after that. Hopefully yours won't take as long to heal. I make sure to really stretch it out now.

Shiatzu or about any deep tissue massage, can help tremendously.
