A unique workout... (Serious)
How is this a good exercise routine? Done 3-4x a week, I don't get it. It goes against everything I've ever read or heard. No deadlifts... No PRESS AT ALL?
Helpz, I think I want to start the routine for 2-3months.
No seriously, can someone explain to me the principal behind his routine? One exercise PER bodypart? I suppose you focus on extreme form and what not, but I don't get it. DIPS and NO incline work? Man boobs or massive shelfs - what will come of that?

Why do you give a shit? If you dont like the program dont use it, I agree it looks ridiculous to me, and I dont think anyone here will say it has much merit, but was this really worth starting thread for?

I figured it was.
Since the article gives the impression that it is a routine that would have been, or was, endorsed by one of the greatest body-builders of all time.
I figured it would be worthy of asking where the logic would lie in that since it seems like there is little thought to the routine.
I figured a discussion board about bodybuilding would be the correct place to ask that.
Ex-fucking-cuse me.

^^ your right, that was a dick post, my bad. I have a sinus infection and I'm in a bad mood. I shouldnt have posted that, sorry.
Now lets clear the air, here is what I think about the article. there are some good points in there about bodybuilding. Mainly how if you are a bodybuilder, your training should differ from powerlifters or trainging for sports ect. I think people tend to forget that not all bodybuilders are IFBB pro's, or even heavy wieghts.

well im don think this would be the universal answer, but by looking at that article it isnt meant for you to be strong or have anythign over developed. it is just for you to have somewhat of a nice rounded physique without you being really big. and for the everyday guy who isnt interested in being super strong or super huge that does look like an ok routine. remember that i said" for an everyday average guy who isnt into being super strong or huge"
i think this artcile is more so for someone who just wants to go ot the gym get in a little shape and look good. they say clear as day in the beginning of the article
"A bodybuilder's goal should be to build a perfect physique, not to lift as much weight as possible in weightlifting or powerlifting exercises. "
so why would you need deads or presses if a workouts headline is that.
all in all it aint a great workout imo. but if you are just a regular dude and you want to do a little something in the gym so you can go to the beach and look aight go for it. but you wont be beating anybody in a lifting competition.
thats just my 2 cents

I don't think it's very well thought out. It would leave you physically imbalanced although, aesthetically, it might leave you looking like a body builder from his era. I don't think it would work very well, honestly.
It seems like Becker just picked a bunch of muscles that he thought make a good physique, and then listed some of the stereotypical exercises to hit each of them. Muscles support each other and doing a very small variety of not-so-compound lifts would be a good way to get hurt in the long run, IMO.

IMO not a very effective program, I agree with all of the reasons previously mentioned and why bother looking strong if you are as weak as a kitten?
Just my 2 cents worth....
