your buggin. i would rather do squats any day instead of leg presses. and you run the risk of killing your knees more with leg presses than you do with squats. have you made sure you were using the right form with squats. do you deadlift?

squats are always hard for anybody just starting. you have to teach yoruself how to do them the right way. from coming up on your heels to holding the weight on your back without hurting your neck. its a process my man. you have to educate yourself

Nothing will get a body in adapt mode like doing deads and squats.

What I meant is that 1.5x body weight (ratio) bench pressing is pretty good, and probably puts you in the top 20% of people in your gym for bench strength.

Well, you can look into Sheiko bench routines (google it, I don't feel like it) if you simply must have your bench pressing volume.

Well your gym must not be anything like my gym. It probably would put him in the top 5-10% of the pps at my gym. lol

I work out in my garage... that number wouldn't put him in the top 50% here

However, there were some pretty strong guys at my gym. Hell, everyone bench presses. Now, if he said he could squat that much, THAT would put him in the top 5% of every gym member at my old gym. Maybe even the top 3%
