Default Overhead Press Modification or Replacement?

Hey guys, I'm moving my old gym equipment into my finished basement so that I can work out at home instead of the gym and I can also get my wife into a routine. It's a very basic set but will allow me to do all the major exercises, but I have one problem...the ceiling. :( It's only 7 foot high down there, so I can't do a standing overhead press. Is there any slight modification I can make to it that would still keep it as effective? I realize I could switch to the seated press, but that has to take half the body out of the equation. Any ideas?

I would just do seated presses. The main reason for doing them is for the shoulders, not the lower half.

Yeah, guess that's the simple solution. I just thought that doing it standing brought the core into the exercise as well. But if there's no other option...

Thanks ;)

Your core should be held tight in a seated overhead press also.

Just be sure when doing them seated you don't try to arch backwards when you start to fatigue.

That sucks man, but if you gotta do seated ones then so be it, just add in something that works your core after them, say hypers, or good mornings or something.
