I'm an ectomorph as well. I was 140 as well when i started and now im 185.

When I reached the same point you're at, i decided to lower the weight and focus on high reps. I know this is unorthodox but after doing 2 sets of light weight, or even on occasion just a light session, I came back and increased the weight by 5-10 lbs and could do it.

The next session id increase the weight a little bit more, and before i knew it, i was pushing more weight, and getting bigger.

Make sure your diet is consistent as well, for us it's really a critical component of our progression.
