Default Injured and need recovery tips

Alright let’s first start off with the injury. I was doing standing shoulder press with dumbbells (60lb each hand) my left wrist collapsed where my knuckle bent all the way back to touch my forearm. It’s been two weeks and I went to the doctor right after it happened. He said nothing was wrong but I should take a little break.

It still hurts like no other, and i wear a brace all day and ice it every morning and night. im still taking another three weeks off before i attempt any upper body
How long of a break and are there any exercises I can do to prevent it from happening again?

I’m 16 years old btw.

And on a side notes, since amino acids promote muscle recovery, do they also promote bone recovery also?
